Privacy policy
Oracle publishes NFL model projections at oracle-picks.pages.dev and on Instagram as @oracle_predicton. It is run by Ethan Thompson. This page explains what information Oracle collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions: ethan@blocksideapp.com.
Visiting the website
You don't need an account. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without following you to other sites. We see totals, such as how many people opened a page, not who you are.
Joining the email list
If you enter your email to get the Oracle Ledger, we store:
- your email address
- the time you signed up
- which page or link you signed up from
- your country, as reported by our host, Cloudflare
We don't store your IP address or device details. We use your address only to send the Ledger email. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and once you use it we never email you again.
Commenting "LEDGER" on Instagram
Our posts invite you to comment the word LEDGER to get a link to our public results page. Our app, "oracleposter", uses Instagram's official API to:
- read comments on our own posts only, to find comments containing the word LEDGER;
- send you one private message with the link, in reply to that comment, within 7 days of it, and post a short public reply to your comment saying the message was sent.
To make sure we never message you twice for the same comment, we keep that comment's ID and your Instagram username in an internal log. We don't store the text of your comment, read your other messages, look at your profile or followers, or message anyone who didn't comment the keyword.
Who else handles this information
We don't sell or rent your information or share it for advertising. It is processed only by the services that run Oracle: Cloudflare (website hosting and email-list storage), Meta (Instagram) and Google (sending the Ledger email).
How long we keep it
Email-list records and the Instagram comment log are kept until you ask us to delete them. An unsubscribed address is kept only as a record that you opted out, so you aren't added back by mistake, unless you ask us to delete it completely.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the email at any time with the link in any Ledger email.
- Ask to see or delete what we hold about you: see Data deletion. We reply within 30 days.
Age
Oracle discusses sports betting and is meant for adults 21 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
